The agency now known as Aon Edge was initially formed in 2003 under the name Advanced Insurance Coverages for the purpose of offering excess flood insurance as an accommodation to agents selling flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program. Following sweeping congressional reforms in 2012 and 2013, Aon acquired National Flood Services in 2014, and we changed the name to NFS Edge when we launched our flagship private flood insurance solution, EZ Flood. In 2018, Aon made the decision to sell National Flood Services but retain the Edge business – as a result, we renamed the business Aon Edge.

When we decided to change the Advanced Insurance Coverages handle, we wanted a name that was easy to spell and easy to remember.  In 2013, my wife and I welcomed our twin sons, Edmund and George, and the name Edge was selected using the first two letters of their names. Today, Edge stands for the place we occupy in this industry – leading with what our experience, advanced technology, and our capital provides and most importantly, our people.
